Annual HR Day Set for December 7

Please join us for our annual HR Day on Friday, December 7. The workshop sessions will begin immediately after the conclusion of the PAISBOA Health Benefit Trust December General Meeting. The HBT Meeting will take place from 9:00 to approximately 10:30 am, with HR Day beginning at the meeting's conclusion, most likely between 10:30 and 11:00 am.

Susan Guerette (right) and her Fisher & Phillips colleagues will present several mini-workshops on a variety of topics, including:

  • Americans with Disabilities Issues – particularly looking at issues relating to mental issues and alcohol
  • Hiring Practices – clearances and proper procedures to follow
  • Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting – how does it work, when should a report be made, what happens if the person under investigation is on your campus such as an employee or parent, what should your policy say
  • Compensation issues - Pay equity act; implications of working remotely;
  • Social Media – what can you restrict; what can teachers post; what should policies provide
